Faculty of Technological Studies is the latest and 4th faculty of the Uva wellassa University and it was formally established on August 17, 2017 upon the approval of the University Grants Commission and the publication of Gazette Extraordinary by the ministry of Higher Education and Highways Sri Lanka. Faculty of Technological Studies will be serving the nation by providing higher education opportunities for the prospective undergraduates who will be enrolling to the Sri Lankan University system through the newly introduce GCE Advanced Level Technology stream. The faculty has two departments namely, Department of Engineering Technology and Department of Biosystems Technology. These Departments offer degrees in Bachelor of Technology in highly demanding fields in Sri Lanka. These professional degree programs are full time and four years. The degree programs are offered according to Sri Lanka Qualification Framework (SLQF) Level 6. Our Faculty is an exciting place to study, where you will have the opportunity to experience and develop an understanding of the latest technologies as you prepare for a career in applied Biology and Engineering. The Faculty of Technological studies aspire to become the first choice for students who qualify to enter state Universities of Sri Lanka from G.C.E Advanced Level Technology Stream. Our Faculty consist of two Departments: Department of Biosystems Technology and Department of Engineering Technology. We offer two degree programs: Bachelor of Biosystems Technology and Bachelor of Engineering Technology which offers broad educational opportunities and career paths to our students. Through our curricular, we continuously challenge our students, helping them gain the knowledge and skills necessary to begin a rewarding career and to become lifelong learners. A point of pride for our Faculty is the young and dynamic staff who provide a focused, practical education that emphasizes a significant laboratory experience for students. In addition to credit courses, we offer our students with the opportunity to engaged in Industrial Training and a Guided Research Project. These opportunities provide students with unparalleled potential for exploration of novel ideas, develop entrepreneurial skills and exposure to the process by which new knowledge is created.
