Opening ceremony of the newly constructed building complex for the Faculty of Technological  Studies was held on the 28th of December 2021. Hon. Dinesh Gunawardana – Minister of  Education & Leader of House of the Parliament, Hon. Nimal Siripala De Silva – Minister of  Labour, Hon. Dilan Perera – Member of the Parliament, Hon. Yadamini Gunawardena – Member of the Parliament & Member of Education Consultative Committee of the Parliament, Hon. A. Aravindh Kumar – Member of the Parliament, Professor Jayantha Lal Rathnasekara – Vice Chancellor of the Uva Wellassa University and a number of other distinguished invitees  graced the occasion.

Professor Kolitha B. Wijesekara – Dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies, other deans of  the faculties, Mr. Gamini Mahindapala – Council Member & Secretary of Public Service  Commission Uva Province, Ms. Palika Vithana – Acting Librarian, Mr. Hibathul Careem – Registrar, Ms. Tharanga Perera – Bursar, Dr. Senani Wijewardana – Head of the Department of  Engineering Technology, Dr. Chathuranga Senarathna – Head of the Department of Biosystems Technology and members of the academic, administrative, non-academic staff and students  were present at the ceremony.

The new building contains fully fledged lecture theaters, engineering laboratories, biological  laboratories, computer laboratories, seminar rooms and auditorium.
