Two-day workshop on Food Dehydration

Department of Export Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture organized a two-day workshop on Food Dehydration on 22nd and 23rd March 2022 as per the request came from the Deputy Chief Secretary (Planning), Uva Provincial Council. The workshop was successfully completed with the participation of twenty five (25) small scale entrepreneurs in Uva Province.

The workshop covered a broad area including of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in food dehydration, Dehydration techniques, Machineries in dehydration, Packing of dried foods, Quality certificates, Marketing aspects, Export procedures and a practical session.

Resource persons of the workshop were Prof. Janaka Wijesinghe, Dr. Sampath Dharmadasa, Dr. Prasad Mahindarathna, Dr. Ranjith Perera and Ms. Prathibha Kahandage.
