Physical Education Unit of Colombo University had organized “AMBASSADOR Cup – 2023” invitational Universities staff Badminton tournament for Academic, Administrative and Non-academic staff of the all state Universities, with the collaboration of Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka and Vice Chancellor of the Colombo University. Events categories were open men’s team, open women’s team, over 45 men’s team and mixed team.

It was held on 06th to 08th October, 2023 at Colombo University gymnasium. Twelve Universities participated at this land mark event. The Uva wellassa University women team achieved the Runners up. Among twelve teams Uva wellassa University over 45 men’s team and mixed team were qualified for quarter finals. Overall, UWU was placed 5th in this tournament.
