Being a resident university, Uva Wellassa University provides accommodation facilities for 100, 300 and 400 level undergraduates. There are four residence buildings situated inside the university premises, two male (Silver Tips and Catelia), two female (Blue Sapphire and Coral Beauty), each with Wi-Fi facilities. Other residences are properties leased to the university that are at convenient distances. Only 100 level undergraduates could accommodate at residence inside the university premises at present. In general, all residences buildings are equipped with all necessary facilities for studying and peaceful stay.

Hostel Application Procedure for 2nd Semester 2022/2023 Academic Year
- Download the Hostel Application Form: Students who wish to apply for hostel facilities for the 2nd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year can download the Hostel Application Form from the university website in a fillable .docs file format.
- Submit the Hostel Application via Google Forms: The students must submit the Hostel Application via the Google forms attached link using their university email before 22nd March 2023. A scanned copy of the fully filled Hostel Application Form (in .docs file or .pdf file format) should be uploaded to the Google form as evidence (maximum size of 1 MB).
- Contact netadmin@uwu.ac.lk for Email Assistance: If you have trouble accessing your university email, please contact netadmin@uwu.ac.lk for further assistance.
- Post the Duly Completed Hostel Application Form: The completed Hostel Application Form should be posted to the Sub Warden, Uva Wellassa University, Passara Road, Badulla before 10th March 2023. The envelope should have “Hostel Application – SEMESTER – II of 2022/2023” written on the top left-hand corner.
- Payment of Hostel Fees: The payment of Hostel fees should be made to the Current Account No. 78166821 at the Bank of Ceylon, Badulla branch in favour of the Uva Wellassa University. The fees amount is as follows:
- 1st year (2020/2021 Batch) – Rs. 2,500/-
- 3rd year (2018/2019 Batch) – Rs. 1,750/-
- 4th year (2017/2018 Batch) – Rs. 1,750/- The payment should be attached/affixed and sent with the application before residing in the Hostel.
- Deadline: No applications will be entertained after the deadline. Students who fail to apply as instructed will not be eligible for hostel facilities.

Guidelines for Hostellers
These guidelines are framed to ensure the smooth functioning of the Hostel and for the comfort, safety and security of the Hostellers. Therefore all the Hostellers are expected to obey the rules and regulations of the Hostel.
STRICTLY PROHIBITED AND PUNISHABLE OFFENCES
- Smoking and consumption of alcoholic drinks and /or narcotic drugs in the hostel premises is strictly prohibited. Students shall not enter the hostel premises in intoxicated state and should not possess such materials.
- Furniture, equipment, walls, doors and windows in the rooms should not be damaged or defaced.
- Having heaters, cooking or being engaged in any activity that would constitute fire hazards.
- Hostellers must be attentive no to make any disturbance to others.
- No Hosteller shall entertain guests or non-resident student inside the room.
HOSTEL ENTRY/ LEAVE RULES
- No entry after 7:30 p.m. and no exit before 6:30 a.m. to the female hostels.
- No entry after 9:00 p.m. and no exit before 5:00 a.m. to the male hostels.
- Hostellers staying out of the hostel for any reason at night (9:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m.) must inform the Sub Warden and keep a record in the late pass register available at the office of Sub Warden.
- Hostellers must inform the Sub Warden in written if they are to participate in a scheduled program of the University at night.
GENERAL RULES
- It is advised that students maintain silence and discipline within hostel premises.
- All resident students must be appropriately dressed whenever they are in common areas of the hostel or visiting the offices.
- Toilets and bathrooms should be left clean for the next person to use.
- Water resources should be used judiciously.
- Hostellers are expected to maintain the social harmony, protect the right of fellow hostellers and behave in a manner that protects the image if Uva Wellassa University.
- Hostellers should cooperate with the Sub Warden and other Staff to maintain a quality hostel life.
Those who do not comply with the above rules & regulations will be expelled from the hostels immediately without prior notification.
