Research Project: “Design and development of a first ever low-cost groundnut combine harvester for Sri Lankan variety and investigate the performance in the field”
Applications are called from suitable, qualified graduates who are willing to read and work as a Full-time Research Assistant for a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) Degree for the above research project at the Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka.
Required Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Degree in Agriculture OR Technology obtained from a recognised university at the graduate level (Specialisation and Classes will be preferable for selection).
- Subject knowledge, work Experience, and research experience relevant to the proposed project will be an added qualification.
- Publication in Machine design and Finite element method (FEM) or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling is compulsory
- As a significant amount of field work and travelling is involved in the project, preference will be given to a male candidate.
Method of Selection:
Shortlisted applicants would be called for an interview. Selection will be done based on the academic qualifications, subject knowledge, work experience, research, publications and performance in the interview.

Period of Contract:
The contract period for the above post is two years, and you need to get into an agreement with the principal investigator of the project for this period, and if you leave before the contract period, you need to pay back the total value of the stipend received by you from the Research grant.
Benefits to the selected candidate
a) Monthly Stipend:
A monthly stipend is available for two years. All-inclusive LKR 60,000/= per month will be paid based on the payment regulations of the National Science Foundations and Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka.
b) Registration fee for MPhil study:
MPhil registration fee will be fully covered under this project.
c)Travelling Expenses:
The travelling expenses pertaining to the research project will be covered under the research project grant.
