Details for Candidates

  • Medium of Communication: English

Duration

The MSc Programme consists of four (04) semesters and will be completed within two (02) academic years.
This includes classroom discussions, practical sessions, field visits, seminars, workshops, and skill
development activities.

The first two (02) semesters of the programme mainly focus on lectures, practicals, and field visits.
The third and fourth semesters are allocated for research.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science / Engineering / Agriculture / Technology
  • Any other equivalent qualification acceptable and approved by the Senate of Uva Wellassa University

Course Fee

Total Course Fee: Rs. 270,000.00

(Can be paid in four instalments as mentioned below)

Instalment Description Amount (Rs.)
First Instalment At the time of enrolment 100,000.00
Second Instalment At the beginning of the 1st year, second semester 50,000.00
Third Instalment Before the end of 1st year, second semester 50,000.00
Fourth Instalment At the beginning of the 2nd year, first semester 70,000.00

Additional Payments

  • Application Fee: Rs. 2,000.00
  • Registration Fee: Rs. 7,500.00
  • Repeat Examination Fee (per course): Rs. 2,000.00

After completion of the degree, the candidate is eligible to receive a refund
of the library deposit of Rs. 4,000.00.

Selection Method

  • Selection will be based on an interview.

A scanned copy of the properly filled and signed application form, certified copies
of certificates (educational qualifications and experience only), a copy of the
National Identity Card, and proof of payment of the application processing fee
