The Research Committee of Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka initiated a scheme of awards called “UWU Research Awards” in 2015 to be awarded annually to recognize, appreciate and honor the outstanding contributions and accomplishments in research by the permanent staff members of Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka

1. Full article published in a Refereed Non-indexed Journal
2. Full article published in a Refereed Indexed Journal
3. Researcher having the highest citations for the year (One Award for each Department)
4. Vice Chancellor’s Award for the Most Outstanding Young Researcher of the year
5. Vice Chancellor’s Award for the Most Outstanding Senior Researcher of the year
