Advanced Research Degree
MPhil is an advanced research degree in academia that involves in-depth study and original research within a specific field of knowledge. An MPhil degree typically involves a significant research component, and it's considered a step between a master's and a PhD.
It allows students to delve deeply into a subject area, conduct original research, and contribute new insights to their field. MPhil programs usually require the completion of a thesis or dissertation based on the research conducted.
A graduate of the MPhil program emerges equipped with advanced scholarly and analytical skills, a deep mastery of their chosen field of study, and the ability to undertake independent research with rigor and innovation. They demonstrate proficiency in critical thinking, data interpretation, and effective communication, both in written and oral formats. Through their academic journey, they have honed their capacity to identify and address complex issues, contributing to generating and disseminating knowledge. This graduate profile reflects a combination of specialized expertise, intellectual independence, and the capability to contribute meaningfully to academia, research, industry, or the public sector.
