The Annual Food Festival organized by the Department of Animal Science was successfully held on September 01, 2016 at Uva Wellassa University. Aurora is always a highly anticipated event on UWU’s annual calendar and the event was hosted this time by the third year students of Department of Animal Science under the guidance of Event Coordinator, Ms. Keshani Ranasinghe, Lecturer, Department of Animal Science. In addition to being an entertaining activity, this annual event was organized to raise funds to assist a rural school, which has relatively less facilities in the Uva Province. The organizers had prepared different types of novel animal and aquatic products with distinct tastes and appearance. Academic, administrative, and non-academic staff members together with students of the University enthusiastically participated in the event. The participants had a hands-on-experience on BBQ preparation in the Aurora 2K16. An additional flavor was incorporated to this food extravaganza by the members of the Art Circle of Uva Wellassa University with various singing performances. The program in all was a success as everyone loved the food and the entertainment.
