Department of Animal Science, Uva Wellassa University organized the 2nd Poultry Forum – “Poultry Forum 2018” (PF-2018) on 28th September 2018 at the University premises under the theme of “Future of the Poultry World: Smarter and Greener Production”. This year the event was co-hosted by Crysbro Group of Company and many other well-wishers. Over 250 people including academics and undergraduates from three agriculture universities in the country along with expertise from research institutes, industries participated in this event. Five guest speeches related to poultry industry which covered the fields of poultry feeding by Mr. T. Jeyaharan (ProFeed), poultry management by Dr. Mangala Amarasinghe (Nelna Farms), poultry diseases by Dr. G.A.S.N. Gamlath (Consultant), poultry product processing by Prof. H. W. Cyril (Emeritus Professor) and new research trends in the poultry industry by Dr. Ms. S.M.C. Himali (University of Peradeniya) were the key highlights in the forum and it was followed by a very productive panel discussion. After the lunch the event was followed with research highlights from two universities under the theme of poultry management. PF-2018 was an immense opportunity to all parties to discuss the current status and the future of the industry. Further, it was an excellent platform to share the knowledge among each party.
