Poultry Forum 2014

The first Poultry Forum organized by the Department of Animal Science, Uva Wellassa University in partnership with Maxie’s & Company (Pvt) Ltd was held on 28th June, 2014 in the University premises. Over 250 participants including representatives from leading industries, research institutes and students from Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and Uva Wellassa University participated in the event. Four resource personnel representing Universities (Prof. K. Samarasinghe, University of Peradeniya), Research Institutes (Mr. Sunil Gamage, Former Director, Veterinary Research Institute) and Industries (Mr. Chapa Bandara, Maxie’s & Company [Pvt] Ltd) delivered their findings related to poultry management, processing, diseases and industrial aspects. The group discussion taken place after the lunch was a valuable session to all students and other participants.
